Option 2 – Beginner Plus Kit (R13 385.00 excl. adapter ring)

Option two offers the same as option one, but with the long exposure toys and a filter wallet added. If you’d like to get a good feel for the Lee System and long exposures, this is a good starting point. The DSLR starter kit includes a holder with two slots, 0.6 solid ND and 0.6 hard grad. If you add the 0.6 soft grad then you can learn the difference between a soft and hard filter and you can achieve 4 stops of darkening (1.2) by combining the two. The solid ND filter is a must have for shooting any scene with moving water and the 10-sleeve filter wallet offers safe storage of your Lee kit. Plastic lens caps allow you to leave the adapter ring attached to the lens when travelling. The Big- and Little Stopper offer allow you to explore the exciting world of long exposure photography. Option 2 includes the following:

  • Adapter Rings
  • DSLR Starter Kit – R5 595
  • 0.6 Soft Grad – R1 975
  • Little Stopper – R2 395
  • Big Stopper – R2 395
  • Field Pouch – R875
  • Adapter Ring Caps – R150

Adapter Rings

The DSLR starter kit does not include an adapter ring. You need to purchase the ring/rings you require separately. Please note that for this reason the price of an adapter ring is not included above.

DSLR Starter Kit

The DSLR starter kit is the ideal introduction to the Lee Filters system and offers great value for money. It includes a 2-slot filter holder, 0.6 (2-stop) Hard Grad ND, 0.6 (2-stop) Proglass Solid ND, Triple Filter Pouch and Cleaning Cloth.

0.6 Soft and Hard Grad ND

These two filters are the most used ones in the Lee line-up and adding a soft grad to the starter kit offers a very good learning experience for any beginner. Unless you’re shooting into really strong light, the difference between land and sky is usually around 2 stops. Having both a soft and hard grad will give you great flexibility for different situations and the ability to achieve 4 stops of darkening by combining the two.

0.6 Hard Grad

0.6 Proglass Solid ND

This filter will enable you to slow down the shutterspeed in order to blur waves or rivers for that nice soft blur. Two stops may not always be enough, but then you can always stop down your aperture if necessary.

Protective Triple Pouch

This pouch allows one to store two filters and the filter holder, but the interior material always leaves people sceptical about the safety of their filters from scratches. Combined with the fact that this basic kit includes three filters, I highly advise that you add the 10-sleeve field pouch to your order.

Cleaning Cloth

Microfiber cleaning cloth for safe cleaning of filters.

Little Stopper and Big Stopper

These two filters offer all that you need to enjoy the creative world of long exposure photography. By combining either or both of these two with your 0.6 Proglass ND, you can achieve 2, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 or 18 stops of darkening.

Field Pouch

As soon as you have more than 2/3 filters, this field pouch becomes a necessity for safely storing all your filters.

Adapter Ring Caps

These caps make life a lot easier on a shooting trip. Instead of removing and attaching the ring every time you want to take a photo, you just pop this cap over the ring and your glass is safe from scratches.

This item includes 3 caps.
